How would Reagan be our first mexican president? The only reason he signed Simpson Mazzoli is because he wanted to seal the borders and stop the problem once and for all.

You don’t control a border with amnesty. That’s how you sweep it under the rug. Reagan knew this and even called that part of the bill what it was; amnesty. But if it weren’t for the border security measures, he wouldn’t have signed the bill. Too bad, those parts of the bill were ignored.

You can blame Reagan for the 86 congress’s shortcomings. But I won’t.
