May 5, 2008
Dear MidwayUSA and Battenfeld Employees:
Today Im pleased to announce the official launch of the Scholastic Shooting Trust Fund, a mission of the newly-created MidwayUSA Foundation. The Scholastic Shooting Trust (SST) Fund is a web-based fundraising program designed to help support shooting education at every high school, college and university in America.
Alumni who would like to see shooting programs offered at the school or schools they attended can help make that a reality by contributing to the SST Fund, by providing a school of preference for their donation to support.
The MidwayUSA Foundation was created by the Potterfield Family in 2007 and the SST Fund website was just completed by MidwayUSA. As the President of the Foundation, I wanted each of you to be among the first to learn about the SST Fund and have the opportunity to support your schools and tell your friends.
Please visit the website and look up your school or schools. You can see the fundraising goal we have established and any contributions received to date. Perhaps you can be the first to make a contribution to your school. Be sure and check back often and watch the donations grow.

I believe the SST Fund will soon be referred to as the most important development in the history of scholastic shooting and one of the most important to the future of all shooting. You are one of the very first to hear about it.
Please consider making a contribution. With your support, we can change the future.
Aim Straight,
Larry Potterfield

P.S. Please email this news to your friends list, post it on your favorite forums and spread the word in every possibly way. There is also a downloadable flyer on the website for bulletin boards.
