If it were not for oil, we would have little interest in the Middle East, and they would have little interest in us.
The author conveniently forgets to mention that they are interested in exporting their brand of sharia to the entire world, by force if necessary. To claim it is only due to oil is patently false.

The underlying cause of World War II was the effort by Japan and Germany to take by force of arms resources they decided they needed to fuel their economies.Oh please.
For Germany, World War II was about revenge and regaining Germany's "rightful" place in the world.
Japan did not attack Pearl Harbor because of severe pineapple shortages. Japan already had built a raw-material empire in the 1937-1939 period. Widening the war was an ideological decision based on the Shinto nationalist policy of Hakko ichiu.

No empire has ever survived without the force of arms and the willingness to use them in its own interests.

Screw the rules of Engagement. The war in Iraq would had been over by now if we destroyed towns like Fallujah and Ramadi. Then the rest of Iraq would get the message if they want to live.
