Dr. John Brignell, a UK Emeritus Engineering Professor at the University of Southampton wrote on his Numbers Watch website on May 1: As we were saying only last month, the motto du jour is get your rationalization in first. The latest wheeze among the doomsayers is that hell fire is being postponed. Of course, it would have been more impressive if it had been published before the recent decade of measurements showing no warming at all. As it stands, it is nothing more than a testament to the infinite tunability of computer models. The warmers are getting more and more like those traditional predictors of the end of the world who, when the event fails to happen on the due date, announce an error in their calculations and a new date.
You are both wrong, see my tagline...
Algore cannot be sued for fraud, or false advertising or anything else, for the same reason KFC, McDonald’s or Burger King can’t——he is satisfying an “appetite”,even while he’s creating one, and it’s not his “problem” or concern that millions “followed” him , rather than a ragtag crew of true believers.......Junk food is the same as junk science-—short term solutions for long term problems.....people become addicted to quick-fix explanations or diets, and “overdo” it, making that their entire world-view, or way of life; they develop an easy addiction to this stuff which satisfies their need to think, or their need to think about nutrition and what it is they’re taking into their bodies and minds. The junk food purveyors could always claim that their product was not “supposed” to be the centerpiece of a diet, whereas the junk science purveyors , backed into a corner, would be forced to admit
the same thing, which only NOW, it seems , they may have to do.......(chances are , they will find numerous ways to wriggle out of it, in the same way the fast food concerns have wriggled out of their problems, and earned respectability and social responsibility by adding salads to their menus.)
