“..I know that this is a kind of rare happening.”

Rare and as pure as God’s Love.

Best of luck with your newfound life. May it bring you a rebirth that fills your heart with the goodness of why it is so wonderful to be alive.

I have a woman friend that brought her adopted brother to another country far away. He was to meet his mother. Then by a miracle he also found his father. And it was joy all around.

I truly wish you the best.

Your right... your experience is rare.

I believe FR was having a problem this afternoon! Some of my posts disappeared into oblivionland.

Others were having trouble too. I hope it is fixed.

"...This occurred in 1966-67 and there were no birth control pills yet as I recall..."

A topic in a 1962 college course of mine asked us, "What will the effects of The Pill be on society?"

My theory was that labor unions would go bust.

I had no idea that within the thirty years that followed, that it meant "Press 2 for English".

Yay for you and your daughter! I can completely sympathize with her and her joy at finding her real Dad. She must feel so whole now. I am 38 years old and found out 7 years ago that the man I thought was my father wasn't ... my mom married him when I was around 2 years old and everyone kept it a secret from me.

I still have no idea who my father is ... grandma won't talk about it ... she thinks it's her fault for having my mother. My mother won't talk about it ... she's pathological and probably believes the lies she's told. Stepdad won't talk about it ... he's terrified of his wife (my mom). I found out from his bother ... but they don't know the whole story.

The knowledge has cleared up a lot of mysteries for me ... but has left the biggest one ... who is my dad? I am so happy for you that you have your daughter. I'm so glad you accepted her so completely ... it gives me hope.

Well I can't say that I've known anyone else who has persevered for so long with no glimmer of positive results and finally succeeded.

Don't give up, hopefully he is alive, well and a good guy.

The internet was the final difference in our case. There was no WWW when she started. Of course she actually had some help from her Mom and you may not until she gets sick and tired of you pestering her.

There are websites dedicated to people finding people and you have some clues you can use...your date of birth, where you would have been conceived, you mom's first name and her description at the time, her occupation at the time etc.

Keep in mind that old saying though, be careful what you wish for, finding out could be worse than not knowing...I'm not being cynical...just be braced. I mean maybe he's Bill Klinton!
