I know, DD. I don't get these "the world owes me" types.
We've all had challenges to overcome in life, but some people don't let it go, and grow up, and instead, like liberals, resort to personal attacks. My husbands ex is like that, so I'm used to it.
I apologize on behalf of evil women everywhere.
:-)
LOL. Does that make me a "moderate" woman, or just a "smart" one?

Both but it also sounds like you are well adjusted. I don’t see much difference between some of these shows and the roman colosseum. It seems we relish in the pain and anguish of other people.
People think that they are better than "the others", and that makes them "feel better". It's pathetic, really.
Ummmmmm. A moderately smart woman?...
*ducking and sprinting for cover*
LOL!
I was referring to this comment made to me, up thread....
get over it.”
;-)
“Too bad FR wasnt around for her maybe she would have raised you with some class”
Feel free to insult me if you must, but please leave my mom out of it. Regardless she doesn’t have the patience for the idiocy on FR.
HARDLY!
I see people right around here that don’t do 1/100th of what they’re responsible to do!
Our next door neighbor HAD one daughter but she wasn’t EVER home, and the few times we did see her, she wasn’t quite all there, in alot of ways, but mostly for he kid.
I remember the woman was concerned about her daughter hanging out with our daughter, at the time my daughter was into dressing kind of gothic, a simple phase that’s long gone.
Our daughter will be 21 in June, is mostly well adjusted, active in church, planning to go to Guatemala on a mission, never in trouble with drugs, etc.
Soooo, naturally this girl is now 20, homeless, pregenant, and her homeless “fiancee” is a guy named Catfish...57 years old.
Frankly after reading this thread, I think evil conservative is mostly spot on, and...
oh nevermind.
Thus far I've managed to make every support payment in full, despite extensive un- and under-employment.
I'm one of the lucky ones, I had enough equity to pull out of the house to live on and make support payments with while I attempted to start my own business. (There are essentially no jobs available for old engineers in Silicon Valley, so I tried to create my own).
We had to pull the plug last month. I'm still a little shocky from the experience.
Now I have a much higher mortgage payment, and no income. At least the business driven hemorrhage is gone.
I don't have quite as many options as I once had. The sky high mortgage and ongoing expenses and high support payments rule out doing the lower level, lower paid work I was able to survive on a few years back. (Ever clean out storm drains? Charming work)...
One fellow FReeper has expressed interest in setting me up as a shopkeeper to add to her distribution network. My lack of skills and poor track record in retail sales combined with having just lost a start-up in an area that I am highly skilled in, make me a bit reluctant to take advantage of her.
I'll muddle through somehow, but I can easily see how even the best of dads could be backed into a hole they can't possibly dig themselves out of. To then excoriate them as 'deadbeats' is not something anyone who hasn't been through the grinder themselves should rush to do.
I apologize. I should have said "So, every decent person with kids does this."

I have a neighbour like that too. My daughter, OTOH, is doing just fine.
A close friend of mine has a husband that separated from her in Dec, he’s given her a $20 and $60 as of last month and that is all. And he asked for a receipt for the last amount.
Three little kids. sheesh.
wow, where were you when I was getting married and having kids?!
sad to hear.....
dang....
You’d better duck, I’m watching you.
Quack! Quack! Quack!
Yeah, that might work if so many didn't get their panties in a knot.
Thanks for making me laugh.

Agreed.
Watching him for what?
He said he was ducking for cover and I just wanted him to know I had my eye on him and he’d better behave. LOL
That will happen about the same time that fathers get the equal right to be the caregiver of their own children, whether never married, married, or divorced, and women are expected to contribute as much financially as the men do.
