Why is the Dept of Justice trying to bury the investigation into the $8 billion eToys Fraud

Asked about the recent dismantling of a high-profile unit in the U.S. attorney's office in Los Angeles that specialized in public corruption cases, an office spokesman provided what some saw as a curious justification:

Eliminating the public integrity and environmental crimes section, spokesman Thom Mrozek said, would actually enhance the effort to prosecute such cases.

He explained that the unit's 17 lawyers would be farmed out to other sections in the office and that those types of cases would now be handled by a larger pool of attorneys, instead of by a select few.

But in interviews with The Times, several members of the disbanded unit challenged that explanation, saying the move was intended to punish lawyers for a perceived failure to produce and for bad-mouthing their boss, U.S. Atty. Thomas P. O'Brien.

The lawyers described a meeting last week in which an angry O'Brien derided attorneys in the office for working too few hours, filing too few cases and for speaking ill of him to subordinates.

They said O'Brien also threatened to tarnish their reputations if they challenged the official explanation for the unit's dismantling in conversations with reporters. Members of the unit contacted by The Times either spoke on the condition that they not be named or declined to comment. Several said they wanted to talk about the situation but feared reprisals if they did so.

We reported perjury, fraud and corruption to the Federal authorities concerning eToys, Kmart, Stage Stores and KB bankrupty items.

At first reaction the Director of the Dept of Justice emailed us that we had his attention and that he would remedy the issue (please see Lawrence Friedman email to Laser Haas at http://fraud-corruption-mnat.townhall.com/default.aspx )

We also made an official complaint under 18 USC 3057(a) and 18 USC 3771 to the US Attorney Tom O'Brien, when the Dept of Justice in Delaware gave illegal, implied, blanket, immunity to 34 acts of perjury, where the MNAT and TBF law firm confessed to filing the 34 false affidavits and the Delaware Dept of Justice actually is assisting Organized Criminal activity in Delaware. http://www.milberglies.com/CitizensComplaintClocket_at_US_Attorney_Dec_7_2007.pdf

Upon receiving the Clocked Complaint, the US Attorney is required, by their own protocol's of their website, to respond in 8 to 12 weeks.

13 weeks after receiving the Official Complaint with proof the Dept of Justice US Attorney in Delaware, Colm F Connolly, was a partner with the MNAT law firm in 2001, therefore guilty of Ethics violations, Tom O'Brien, the California US Attorney, shuts down the Public Corruption Unit, while at the same time, O'Brien threatens his subordinates to keep their mouths shut and only reveal to the press the reason for disbanding the unit was to make the Dept of Justice more efficient.

The new Attorney General MuKasey agrees with O'Brien that the dismanlting of the Unit was to make the Dept of Justice more efficient. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23840049/

In order to refute these allegations, only one question needs to be answered.

What is the case number/date to the investigation into eToys?
