Mine’s already spent. It went towards the purchase of a used Chrysler. Go USA! Upon further inspection, it turns out this particular Chrysler was made in Canada. Oh well, I tried...
Our check will just about cover my wife’s monthly credit card bills ...
I’m thinking about buying a treasury bill. You know, just to make this cost us even more.
I have until May 9th to decide how to spend mine...that’s when I get it.
This “rebate” is sophistry. Government borrowed the funds it has doled out. It makes as much economic sense as if you had just gotten a cash advance on your credit card.
The best thing to do with it? First and foremost: use it to pay down any debt you have, especially credit card debt.
Second: use it to buy an asset that will save you money, an asset that will help you earn money or an asset that does not diminish in value such as gold coins, assets.
Government is busy “borrowing into circulation” money that it has created out of nothing, which in effect is counterfeiting your private wealth so it can buy your loyalty. Don’t be fooled.
I was going to buy another good ol’ American gun, but I’m not getting a rebate. Oh, well, those of you who are, have fun spending my money.
