its more fun to laugh at the “mexicans” that are celebrating cinco de mayo.
ask them what the significance of the holiday is. if they tell you “its the mexican 4th of july!” slap them make them buy you a drink.
90% of the “mexicans” i see celebrating the day are 3+ generation Americans, don’t speak a word of spanish, and are out celebrating the “mexican independence day.”
at least white people are more honost. “i don’t know what the day means, but its a drinking holiday so i’m gonna get plastered”

Kind of like St. Patrick's Day, which you don't have to be Irish to celebrate.

Cinco de Mayo, a battle led by a TEXAN, General Ignacio Zaragoza, born in Seguin, Texas. Maybe that is why it is so important in the north.
