were he to play it right, dropping out now nearly guarantees that he’ll be elected president in 2012.
It guarantees that he'll be branded a quitter and a coward who can't take a punch and can't follow through, and he'll have 4 years of zero legislative accomplishments to back that up.
Didn't John Kerry and John Edwards refuse to contest the Ohio vote in part because they didn't want to tear the country apart and each wanted to set themselves up for 2008? How's that working out?
