Since it's "Typical White Person" week here at FR, I thought I would post this handy list of white priveleges pulled from "Gender & Ethnicity" class resource at Arizona State University. Click the link for all 50 reasons to feel guilty. Seems like they missed a few. I would add:
51. I can put Barry Manilow on my iPod without losing street cred.
52. I can dance poorly without somebody calling an ambulance.
53. I can make lists about white people that prove how sensitive and angst-ridden I am.

Indeed. After reading this article I was so guilt ridden that I threw out my Vanilla Ice album and my wife's Cher collection.
I'm tearing up as I write this.
54. As I White Person I can actually name my high school team after me and no one is offended.
55. I can pay as much taxes as the government tells me too and I have no right to complain because I'm privileged.

Oh, yeah. The poison of
Critical Race Theory is all over the trendier corners of the Humanties caves. This list is symptomatic of a particularly irritating offshoot, Critical Whiteness Theory. People get paid big bucks for spouting this silliness. It beats working.
To: Callahan
I feel odd.
I'm asian, and yet somehow, someway, I enjoy white privilege.
So, can we rename this white/asian privilege?
Or is this privilege open to pretty much everybody, since I seem to have it without having been born (and also not looking) white?

White privilege is available to all who work or retired from years of American exceptional-ism. Welcome Asian and Black brothers to this wonderful world of privilege.

Daily effects of white privelige (the complete list)You can misspell privilege.
If someone looks at you, you can bellow in a booming, threatening, voice, "YOU LOOKIN AT ME, SUCKA?" and noone will say anything.
Oh,wait...nevermind.

Vietnamese came here destitute and now their children are honors students. And they (and other Asians) do great on IQ and SAT tests that are allegedly culturally biased. Maybe when you learn proper English, are intelligent, sober and apply yourself you become an honorary white

Form a line: there's enough guilt to go around for anyone. Your four bucks is as good as the next typical white person.

You can be denied admission to college despite having much better qualifications than “underrepresented minorities.”
That’s privilege!

An eighteen year-old essay from a guilt-ridden Massachusetts liberal elitist.
(And Peggy? You might want to ask what behaviours are glorified in contemporary non-white communities -- e.g. "gangsta rap" and "narcotic" and "gang-banging" and "no family structure" -- which might change the dynamics of inter-racial relations in a game-theory sort of way...)
'Nuff said.
Cheers!
