"Absolutely true. Joe Lieberman would be McCain's top choice if he could pick the person he really wants as a runningmate. Now, there is a brilliant idea to rally the base...

The McCain campaign would have to be out of itscollective mind to even be considering Charlie Crist. One would hope that wise heads will prevail. A little protest from the conservative grass roots wouldn’t hurt matters, either.

True. But it’s highly unlikely that he’ll do it.

McCain will lose if he picks Lieberman. McCain’s only base going for are the vets/WOT types along with pro-life voters. McCain, especially given his age, picking Lieberman (who supports partial birth abortion) would be a disaster

Lieberman ran with Kerry and threw everthing he believed in over the side. McCain is a loser. If he gets elected it will be without me.
To: Clintonfatigued
How about Fred Thompson? Then I might be moved to vote for McCain.

McCain's base, if he has any, is not in the Republican party.

“What about the rumors that McCain wants Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT) as his runningmate? “Absolutely true. Joe Lieberman would be McCain’s top choice if he could pick the person he really wants as a runningmate.”
I will donate $2,200 to Obama, just out of spite.
“Maverick” McCain is demanding GOP party loyalty from conservatives that he has never, himself, shown the GOP.
Time for a serious GOP revolt.

If any of this is true, and there is no reason to believe it is, we are looking at a disaster.

McCain doesn’t care about conservatives. He (mistakenly) thinks we will vote for him because he’s not as bad as Obama.

Would the convention let Lieberman remain Democrat if he were the V.P. candidate?

Yeah. Protest from the conservative grass roots has already had a lot of influence on McCain. Right?

His decision could mean the difference between me donating and campaigning for him, or me not even voting for him. It’s pretty important for him to get this right and Crisp is definitely NOT right.

I'm sure that Soros won't let him pick Lieberman as Soros is anything but keen on him.
