A while back I read on FR that Florida was considered a fairly safe bet for the GOP id Obama is the Democratic candidate. It’s because all the retired Jewish old-times in south Florida were already leary of Obama as long as two weeks ago - that is before the Jeremiah Wright rants.

The general belief is that most of these voters will vote for McCain. Now, I have never been a big fan of McCain, but maybe it will prove a good thing to have him on the ticket after all - if he can pick up all the Jewish voters in the process. He may also increase his fund raising if that happens.
