Broomfield based his film on second and third-hand accounts of the incident and falsely claimed it was based on the stories of Marines "who were there".

Don’t know what khara is but I’m guessing if you step in it, it’s not a tiptoe through the tulips.

I like Oliver Stone (blasphemy!) and see as many hits from the guy as misses. He has guts in the stuff he tackles. ‘JFK’ was a little crazy, but I enjoyed it. ‘Platoon’ was mostly good. ‘The Doors’ was nicely done, too (Val Kilmer was excellent!). On the other hand, ‘Alexander’ was a friggin nightmare - - boring to the extreme, and with sodomy thrown in just for bad measure! My favorite offering from Stone was a TV mini-series called ‘Wild Palms’ which apparently most people flat-out hated. Stone is a real hit or miss guy - - not much in between.

So my guess is the odds that ‘Pinkville’ will suck are about 50 - 50, but maybe not so bad with Willis in the mix.

FRegards,
LH

Actually, I liked “JFK”, too. It brilliantly portrayed the paranoia of many people—some of whom I’ve had the misfortune to know. I should see “Platoon” again. I saw it right after “Full Metal Jacket” which has stayed with me with more (especially the first half) than the Stone film.

less than a million tuned to Channel 4's presentation of Battle for Haditha. Those viewers represented less than five percent of the viewing public in England, and is equivalent to the audience for a bottom-rated cable news show, Countdown with Keith Olbermann on MSNBC, in the United States.

Ooh, as far as I'm concerned, that sentence is a "twofer" for me! And with the thought that "Battle for Haditha" stinks as bad as Keith Olbermann, I can go to bed with a gargantuan smile on my face!

HA HA!

Happy Easter to everyone!
