Rush Limbaugh’s Plan Backfires
forthegrandchildren.blogspot.com ^ | 3/18/08 | Purple Mountains

I can’t really complain because I thought at the time that Rush’s plan (Operation Chaos) was brilliant, and I was enjoying the resulting turmoil. With Hillary down, but a close second to Obama, and with the Republican race decided, his plan was to have Republicans cross over in Texas and Ohio and vote for Hillary. Keep the Democratic race close with no apparent winner and let the Democrats tear themselves apart at their convention this summer. Entice them into a repeat of their 1968 disaster that helped elect a Republican president.

It seems to me the plan is working perfectly. The is pretty much a 100% chance of a brokered convention with sides so passionate about their own candidate, they won’t cross over.

Too bad this armchair blogger can’t see it.

The plan: Split the Democrat Party.

The players: Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton hundreds of special interests groups and zealots.

The process: implore GOP voters to cross over and keep both Dim candidates sniping at each other with no clear cut winner.

The setting: A brokered convention with bloody and divisive results.

Conclusions: One third of Democrat voters choose Nader or McCain. McCain wins.

WTG RUSH!!!!! Oh, wait.

Obama’s candidacy is effectively over. Dean and the rest of the DNC are working the phones to ensure a Clinton win, and the Obama supporters will be reduced to hate-America types.

Obama’s candidacy is effectively over.

Nope, he is leading in pledged delegates, it is far from over. This is exactly what we want, two beaten and battered sides that cannot work together.

IF the plan is working, and that’s a big if ... one needs to keep in mind that agility is called for in these circumstances. You must always keep the end goal in mind. There will come a time when the “big mo” switches to HRC and at that point, votes need to go to Obama to keep their sparring alive. But remember. you are playing with dynamite here and the last thing we need is the Clintons back in the White House.

I disagree.

The absolute ideal outcome of “Operation Chaos” would be for neither candidate to have enough delegates and for this convention to be brokered. This WILL happen. Mission accomplished.

All we can do is get the vote as close as possible. The chaos part will come from the democrats themselves and their character weaknesses. Their lack of leadership, lack of respect for rules, the identity politics, their latent racism, and their violent tendencies will do the rest.

Chaos will be maximized if Obama has a razor thin plurality of delegates and popular vote, yet Hillary is nominated by committee. This is a distinct possibility.

If this happens, the democrat party will be split forever.

100% correct.

El Zibo and his cohorts plans were not to have a democrat fight at the convention, they were about destroying the weaker candidate in the general elections and that is Barack Obama. El Zibo and many conservatives want McCain defeated at any cost, they failed to do so in the primaries so they want to achieve their goal in the general elections. McCain would have won 40 states against Obama. Therefore the plan is for McCain to face a much stronger candidate in Hillary Clinton who has much bigger chances of winning the general elections.

I’ve been listening to Rush for many years. This I believe, is asinine. He has basically eliminated obama too early and is bragging how he is soooo instrumental with Operation Chaos. He screwed up and his ego is too big to allow him to admit it. The democrats will unite and we will have another president clinton. But as long as everybody feels good about it now, that all that matters.

I thought the plan was terrible to begin with...first of all, it is dishonest and what about all the other elections that won’t get the attention they deserve? I can accept McCain in the Oval Office if we have conservative Congresscritters in place to counterbalance him. We also needed to elect solid conservatives to our State, County and local offices as well, some of whom will eventually run for higher positions of authority. Why waste my vote trying to skew the Democrat’s vote count?

The Democrats are in a no-win situation. Their get-tough approach to Florida and Michigan is already back-firing. The longer Clinton and Obama slugs it out, the more unelectable they become.

I don’t think Obama’s campaign is toast. If he has more delegates and the super-delegates give it to Clinton, it could be the catalyst Republicans need to finally break the Democrat’s monopoly on the black vote.

I still give Obama an 80% chance of getting the nomination.

As much as I love Rush, I disagree with him on this one too.

I would rather the house fall on her and see the toes curl up in the striped socks right now, and be finished with her.

I was wondering last night what happens if she is slightly behind and they suddenly decide to give her Florida’s delegates. The beast would be a nightmare, and either Obama or McLame would be better.

I agree. Rush made a terrible mistake. He made it possible for Clinton to comeback and win the nomination and win the White House.

We would have had a much better chance against Obama - especially in Ohio. I really think that Rush would rather see Hillary as president than McCain. It would be better for HIS business but a disaster for our country.

I dont want that either of course. But
the last thing I want is Obama in the white house.
I have bit more trust in Hildabeast to not get us nuked. She seems to have some grasp on islamo facism. Obama doesnt see it at all.

I don’t think there was ever a chance that Clintons would not get the Democrat nomination. They own the process where it counts, at the top.

It will be good if Clintons taking of the nomination is seen as due to Rush and Republicans. What do you suppose that will do to Democrat voters’ enthusiasm for Clintons if the Democrat candidate is seen as a result of Republican machinations?

There is a 0 % chance of a brokered convention. She is going to win most of the states from now on in, including N. Carolina, Pa. , Indiana and so on. She will have this wrapped before the convention.

Thank you, Rush, you self serving dolt.

Clinton is apt to bring fewer congressionals with her than Hussein and more apt to bring back a Republican House in 2010.

You're correct.

I've been saying all along that Obama was a fighter with a glass jaw. He was the guy that we really wanted to run against. In the end, a decorated war hero like McCain would have won at least 40 states against Mr. Hopenosis.

We should have buried the Clintons when we had the chance.

She is going to win most of the states from now on in, including N. Carolina, Pa. , Indiana and so on. She will have this wrapped before the convention.

Her best case scenario, even if she wins 100% of the remaining vote, mathematically, she will be unable to reach the required number of delegates at this point. She will be short just over 100 delegates. This means the super delegates will have to be in play and you will have a brokered convention.
