His dream was to get a Mead.
After his death, I had a neighbor with a Mead, and he also had an electronic clock/GPS that was an absolute marvel.
Even with the skyglow of Vegas, I was able to see ALL the rings of Saturn in awesome detail! And we were “downtown!”
Theoretically, it’s a less relatively expensive hobby these days.
Done properly, one could even mitigate some of the expense through photography or research.
Meanwhile, I think I’ll go refresh my memory of what the inside of my eyelids look like.
