I’ve had bad luck with alternators for many years. Maybe it’s my Aura :-). My old Nash Metropolitans were forever having troubles with their charging systems. There's a reason they called Joe Lucas "Prince of Darkness."

The “new” Volkswagen Beetle had a bad electrical system, too. My mom had lots of trouble with hers, and finally sold it and got a Camry (again) because they always start.
