Uneventful trip, in all the good ways. Everything on time, good seatmates (well, second leg NO seatmates), got to hotel about 1 AM as predicted, and then...
At 2:30 AM was still awake. Figured I'd sleep in, then head off to Gettysburg. But at 7:30 AM was wide awake. Since I was awake, figured I had time to make it to our cathedral parish in D.C., knowing it would impact my schedule a little.
Got there in time despite the sometimes blinding downpours (not at all like our gently-persistent Seattle drizzle) and lightning. Decided to stay after for the Bible study, which was interesting -- but by that time I was seriously off schedule. Between the downpours and being tired I bagged it.
There will be more time Friday.
Good night all.
I’m glad you made it safely! There is so much to see around there. We saw as much as we could, in the seven months we lived in VA.
Some of it had the feel of untold thoussands of ghosts; parts of it were “OK.” We visited an awful lot of older homes in the area, places that had been abandoned long ago. Even they had “ghosts” you could “feel.” At least, my son and I did. Igor and my daughter didn’t.
