I took some time out to visit a friend’s mother, who is here from Boston. We had so much fun, I spent the night!

“A change is as good as a rest,” for sure!

Howya! I went out to run, but after two miles my extremities starting tingling, which is an early sign of a hypoglycemic meltdown. I should have eaten something other than pretzels and salad for lunch. Oh, well.

We’re talking about going to a reptile show at Davidson College tomorrow.

I know the meltdown feeling quite well. I get the Terminal Stupids with mine.

It’s only 66 today, and the wind is out of the NNE at 16, so I don’t want to be out in it. My apartment was cold when I came in, so I’m still trying to warm up.

*shiver*

Are you having rain, again?

Thanks all. I’m having a busy morning. One of my machines is misbehaving do to a bad fiber optic so I am scurrying about trying to find a replacement.

We’re getting to be Mostly Cloudy, temp in the mid-70’s. The little girls are out walking dogs for a neighbor who’s on a trip. (A paying job, although they’d do it for free.) Anoreth says we’ll have thunderstorms later.

Welcome to the Undead Thread (aka Flying Castle!)
I’m sorry I wasn’t around yesterday to welcome you.
If you’d like the self-guided tour, please pay attention to the signs. The lower you go into the Castle Environs, the more important it is that you check in with someone periodically.

The zombies, dwarves and dust bunnies have been a little nervous, lately, so if MUST go lower than the forges, please ask for someone to go with you! The Buddy System is always in effect, there. Well, except for Darksheare and Dead Corpse. They seem to be impervious to the hexes and spells.

We do have some spider bots, but I think they are mostly for maintenance. I think.

Anyway, bars, kitchens and gyms are open 24/7, so make yourself at home. And if you’ve a mind to, sionnsar and I have a telescope on the “roof.” (And sometimes, he’s up there, skirling....)

We have clear skies (for a change), and wind is blowing just enough to get the gunk out of the Valley, but not yet hard enough to blow the dust around.

I guess that’s a good thing, if you like wind.

I have to go to the Post Office. If I don’t come back, I probably fell into the time-dilation field that makes P.O. employees mooooove soooooo sloooooowlyyyyy. Send Dr. Carter to rescue me. (Have I mentioned lately that she’s older than I am?)

Fiber problem fixed by cannibalizing another machine that isn’t quite ready to use. I spend most of my day dealing with balky ‘bots so I know their ways. A thousand linear feet of machines processing glass into solar panels can go wrong in some very interesting ways. You never want to forget your hard hat, eye protection and steel toed booties. And if you smell anything weird be sure to hit the gas alarm on your way out.

regards,

Our PO seems to be controlled by two very efficient, over-worked women and one cranky SOB with a mullet.

I try to do all my mailing business at the machines in the lobby, not necessarily to avoid the lines, but to avoid the Mullet Man. He needs an attitude adjustment.
