I actually wish conservative leaders would call the NYT a tabloid everytime theyre asked about it on a tv show. Hold it up next to the Star or Enquirer. GMTA! See post 40.

I don’t care what anyone else thinks, I loved a good Bat Boy story. Sorry we wont ever see him again.
The crazy thing is that with The Weekly World News now gone the subject could be available on the market for other publications to pick up including the NYT.

Only way the NYTs can recover from this is if they have more evidence.[That evidence will be delivered by the Great Pumpkin.]

Sorry, that perfectly reasonable inference is the ultra-simplified story line of the cultural right.
Are you referring to the fact that this was a story that someone was going to drag out before the election anyway, and so the Times actually did McCain a favor by waiting until it was too late to hurt him in the primary and too early to make a difference in the general?
To: beezdotcom
No, I’m referring to the plausible thesis that the Times would build up McCain while he’s competing against Thompson and Romney but then tear him down once it’s clear he will be facing Hillary or Obama.
To: Charles Henrickson
Okay, that was the other one....got it.
To: PJ-Comix
How weak was this story? FR didn’t even have to get involved for it to be debunked.
So we’ll have to save the Pajama Patrol badges for a better cause.
Of course, the next time the NYTs try to pull one over on the Progs, they’ll fall for it just like they did for Rathergate and this one and all the others.

I’d actually think your story has more validity than the times.
