...has our country slidden so far left that we can do no better than this Bob Dole redux?

Slide. Slid. Slud...as Dizzy Dean used to say.

John McCain is most assuredly not "Bob Dole redux".

Bob Dole was a loyal Republican who would've signed any conservative legislation that a GOP Congress sent him.

John McCain can't be counted upon to do that. He is neither loyal, nor trustworthy...nor conservative.

Give me Bob Dole everytime.

Can’t we just have nobody for four years or so. The empty chair is better than any choices we are offered.

Just put an automated veto machine on it and we’ll be way ahead than with any of the candidates offered to us.

Maybe two houses of empty chairs in Congress, too.

The only way that things won’t get much worse.

The best prayer only says, "Thy will be done"

It is in God's hand.

Also a side note to McCain supporters:

You are my enemy.

Unfortunately, as a former Catholic and long time Bapticostal, I was mostly taught that Mormonism was a "cult."

now you've got your feet on solid ground, eh?

“McCain: I’d ‘entertain’ Democratic VP slot”

USA Today, March 10, 2004

“John Kerry is a close friend of mine. We have been friends for years,” McCain said Wednesday when pressed to squelch speculation about a Kerry-McCain ticket. “Obviously I would entertain it.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
John McCain,
Boston Herald, April 2, 2004
“I believe my party has gone astray. I think the Democratic Party is a fine party, and I have no problems with it, in their views and in their philosophy.”
LOL...
We keep pretending that a “true” conservative might someday make it to the white house. When was there ever one in the last century?
Heck, the GOP hasn’t even ~nominated~ a conservative since Goldwater, and even he wouldn’t have been conservative “enough” for this crowd.
The only thing McCain has going for him is that I detest him slightly less than I do Hillary. That is not a very good reason to vote for him.
