Good Morning!

The Atomic Clock says 58 degrees outside already. Temps were probably in the high 80s yesterday out in the cow patties. Promises to be more of the same. Maybe soon I can stop wearing long pants at work.

It’s 55 Sunny with a few clouds, the hill or green and many covered with wild flowers. The high will be in the 70’s I need more days like today.

What a laugh!
A few years ago, a couple of guys tried to rob a busy bar here one night. Of course, they had no idea that the bar catered to off-duty law enforcement...
That was one news clip that had legs, for sure!

The Book of ForeShadowed Sorrows Tale VI

Travel Plans, Anyone?
Or
“The Eye of the Beheld.”

He’d been on holiday for quite some time, travelling here, travelling there.
He’d seen nearly everything he’d wanted to see of historic interest to him, nearly.
Here in the very heart of the southern end of Romania, the possibility of not only seeing an ancient castle, but wandering through one beckoned.
He spoke with a man, a member of what was the local service of historic landmarks, or so the paperwork he read told him.
Some small arrangments later, and he was enjoined by others looking to wander ancient sites.

They meandered up the walkway, taking in the sights, the sounds, the smell of ancient earth mingled with slowly crumbling stone.
The air chilled slightly, and a guide joined them just inside the doors.
She caught his eye instantly, slightly pale, tall, small rimmed glasses perched just so low on her nose as she clinically spoke about the objects they viewed.
He noted her figure, how she walked.
Entranced, he followed her without sound, barely conscious of the scenery passing by.
She turned in front of a large painting and spoke to the group, and smiled at him as he stared.
Strange, she looked remarkably like the woman in the painting, but his mind batted that away as he watched her lips move hypnotically around her buzzing and strangely relaxing speech.
She motioned for him to follow her, saying something about being able to view the ancient crypts, as they were freshly opened.
He blindly followed, failing to notice the sounds of the group fading out like candles snuffing in the darkness.
He failed to note that the clean and well preserved walls were replaced by dusty webbed environs.

Suddenly, she spun about, laughed, and wrapped her arms around him from behind.
He jarred to his senses too late.
“What happened to the group? The tour?” his brain was slow to catch on.
“Foolish man, there never was any group..” said the vampiress as her fangs brushed his neck in her dark embrace and the fires of his mind slowly extinguished, “..you’re all there was to behold.”

The Book of Foreshadowed Sorrows remembers warm embraces under moonlit skies, and darker things as well.
It holds many tales about those, decieved by illusion and delusion, drawn down unknowingly to their sudden ends.
But on these, the book lingers on the almost romantic tales the longest.

Ping to 2190, and the latest addition to The Book of Foreshadowed Sorrows.

And, if I forgot anyone who you think would be amused by it, drag ‘em in as well.
(?_?)

Very exciting writing, spooky, as it draws the reader into the cave of cobwebs and vampires.

Thanks for the ping. ;0)

It's done. Bit o' last minute dram and the fax machines got a work out. But we are the proud new owners of a beat up house that will be absolutely gorgeous later on this summer when I'm done fixing it.

Pics to follow once it's worth taking photos of. ;-)

And, the weatherman is suffering from confusion, disorientation, disporiantation, scalp irritation, and a bunny on his head.

Being undead in the freeze weather stinks.
Willing victims, er, people bundle up too much.
