One thing that irritates me of media coverage of the primaries has been the analysis of exit polling and reporting of demographic trends based on this polling. They all race to announce their guess of the primary winner and then they break down how this race voted for that candidate or how this age group felt about the economy, etc. The naive viewer might assume all this stuff came off the ballots. I never hear mention that this comes from exit polling, the sample size, the error rate of exit polling etc. Curious how serious we should take this kind of information.
Very seriously.... It's the accuracy of exit polling that put John Kerry in the White House.
exit polling question ping
You know the ballot box is pretty sacred to ppl...
I have also read that often time people lie on exit polls on purpose. I believe it. It is an invasion of privacy and no one’s business...
People lie on polls at the time, just for kicks.
What bothers me is how the commentator will report this stuff as if is came from the mouth of God directly to their ear. Not mention of how the ‘information’ was obtained, how large the sample size is, etc. I agree with you. I consider anyone at the polling place who is not there to administer the voter or to vote to be a nuisance. I wouldn’t talk to an exit poller.
