Breck Girl's Pageant For V.P.
Political XFile ^ | 1-22-2008 | Thomas Anderson

Last nights S.C. debate was turned into the "Breck Girl's Pageant for Vice President". It was like a really bad reality show in which two daters, Obama and Clinton, were trying to work out their differences and right when it got really juicy the third wheel, Breck girl, jumped in to ruin everything. Why, may I ask, is the Breck girl still in this campaign when he has no chance of winning the nomination? The only reason I can see is that he wants to be V.P. Back when it seemed like Obama was going to win the Breck girl used the debates to jump all over Hillary. Now that it seems Hillary is going to win the Breck girl jumps all over Obama. This guy has no shame. He will do whatever he needs in order to keep his political career alive. He spent the entire debate, last night, pounding on Barack Obama. Which makes it almost impossible for Obama to win. Obama is already running against two people in Hillary and Bill. Now he is running against the Breck girl and his campaign to kiss the rear ends of the Clintons. If race seemed like a problem before it is really a problem now for Democrats. Last nights debate gave the appearance of Obama under attack from all of the "white" candidates- Bill, Hillary, and the Breck girl. When you add Hillary's demeaning attitude toward Obama you get a portrait of what Black Americans say has plagued them to this day: anytime a Black person tries to better him or herself the white establishment gangs up to tear them down. I think it is time for the Breck girl to exit the stage because his aspirations are making this race look really bad.

I think Edwards sides with Clinton in the end.
He’ll use his delegates as leverage to get the VP spot, and will go on to be the only vice presidential candidate in history to appear on two consecutive losing tickets.

In the end, Hillary won't need his delegates, thus she doesn't need him either. If Edwards had a clue it would make better sense to "partner" with Obama.

“If Edwards had a clue it would make better sense to “partner” with Obama.”

he sees Obama as his enemy for the V.P. spot, the last thing he wants is Obama becoming the V.P. so there’s no way he’d partner with Obama.

Hillary wouldn’t select Obama for VP if he was the last person on earth.

It can’t be both.
Either Hillary needs the delegates, or Edwards’ delegates won’t be enough to help Obama.

The reason I think he would side with Clinton in the end is simply because he would make a political calculation that the Clinton machine is far better to have working for you than against you.

LOLOL!!!
u may be right, but i think Hillary will do anything to win, and if Obama gives her the best chance then she’ll choose Obama............ besides, her real V.P. is Bill.

You're right. Without Obama on the ticket, she still gets 90% of the black vote. What's she need him for?

She might go with Richardson, to help with the hispanic vote.

She got significant hispanic vote in NV and you’re right, whe gets 90% of the Black vote when he’s out unless Blacks get mad and stay home.

My guess is she waits to see who the GOP nominee is and counters their strentgh with her VP nod. If it’s McLame she gets a war general, if it’s Romney she gets a Wall Street Banker, if it’s Rudy she gets a philanderer....gives the slot to Bill.

Obama gets the youth vote in droves, which she does poorly with. Obama also has a great organization, and he’s a great speaker. Hillary could use him stumping on her behalf as V.P.

You have some good points, but the youth vote never votes and I'm not sure she wants somebody outshining her rhetorically on her own ticket, as Obama surely would.

Of course, if she's up against that lunatic McCain, she'll look like the composed leader and won't have to worry about her own communication shortcomings.
