Incorrect. We have a strong Judeo/Christian tradition. We do not have an established religion. The 1st Amendment protects us from having an established religion.

AmericanGunner is correct. We have a Government of, by and for the people. It stands to reason, that the Government should reflect that, since we are a predominantly Christian people.

John Adams, on Oct. 11, 1798, said..."Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

The First Amendment, as the rest of the BoR, simply prohibits the Government from interfering or encrouching upon religion.

And which flavor of the month do you suggest speak for all of Christianity? Mormons? Southern Babtists? Catholics? Jehovah Witnesses? Quakers? Pentacostal snake charmers?

You are in sore need of a refresher on why the pilgrims came here in the first place.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...
