She was unpaid. A volunteer. And civilian CCW from what I understand.
Basically, this private church asked this private citizen member to help out in this respect.
This is what CCW is all about.

yes , and I know from personal experience that the cops WILL NOT help until the shooting stops

Exactly right!
I’ve updated the story to reflect the two armed male members who refused to shoot and refused to surrender their guns to other members willing to shoot.
It’s quite a tale of one woman’s courage!
