the tide-gauges maintained until recently by the National Tidal Facility of Australia show a mean annual sea-level rise over the past half-century equivalent to the thickness of a human hair.

What with wave actions and never exactly repeating tides it would seem this is way outside of the margin of error of any such measurements.

<sarc>The results show an increase of 2.4982653 cm over the next decade, plus or minus 5cm.</sarc>
