Some of us were hoping that he would, so that the military could intervene and give him a Mussolini farewell.

The difference is that Clinton is crooked enough to do it:

FBI file theft...ten times worse than Watergate,

Ron Brown and the 35 aboard his plane,

Fort Marcy Park and Vince Foster,

Juanita Broaddrick,

Sandy Burglar and Able Danger.

If you get 9-11 ten months earlier I see the suspension of the transfer of power as being par for the course with this list. Bush has never done anything close to this stuff.

And I recall reading the same thing on Fidonet and BBSs in the 80s that Reagan was going to do the same. Thereafter of course, it was Bush I. It's always "Suspend the constitution and declare himself leader".

Bunk then, bunk now.
