“The most realistic thing Paul has a shot at is shoring up the election for Hillary.”
And that, my friend, is EXACTLY the point...
If Paul is polling in barely readable numbers among likely voting Republicans, WHERE is his money coming from?
His money is coming from THE LEFT, desperate to make Republicans look bad, and most definately from STORMFRONT...
I live in Santa Barbara County in California and Ron Paul support is BIG on college campuses. Ron Paul is a modern day RFK. My kids are young adults and Ron Paul is the most popular candidate with their friends, most of whom have a natural left bent. These kids know that there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats.
I could support Ron Paul EXCEPT for his position on the WOT. These kids are fired up. There is tremendous passion for his candidacy. No one else running has that.
The polls are excluding Paul's name from the questionnaire & they are polling the same registered registered Republicans who supported Bush in 2004. Keep in mind that the 2004 GOP primaries were among the lowest in Republican turnout in history.
His money is coming from THE LEFT, desperate to make Republicans look bad, and most definately from STORMFRONT...
His money is NOT coming from the Left and your ridiculous Stormfront cheap-shot only reveals your ignorance and desperation. All of Dr. Paul's donations are coming in from individuals - independents, libertarians, old-right conservatives, and yes, traditional liberals who are apathetic and disgusted with politics. Hence the support for Paul.
Does that even make any sense? The only issue the Dems have is the war. Why would they want to promote the idea that the War in Iraq is anything but a partisan issue? Why would they want to risk energizing the significant portion of the Republican base tired of the big government liberalism of Bush, et al?
The status quo greatly favored the Dems. No way the Dems are spending tens of millions of dollars just to disrupt the biggest advantages they have.
