The public is not telling him no, the public is being blocked from hearing what he says and does. How could they say no to something they are not being allowed to hear?
The man is running in a GOP primary of which he’s been a member since his first election or before. Thus he’s had almost 30 yrears to build recognition among the party. Who’s fault is it that he’s not known among the GOP. It damn sure isn’t the medias job to promote him if he wants to accomplish something for himself. It’s his job to build his resume and become known across the states via party leadereship roles, etc.
