You surely can’t be serious. The office is worthy of respect, even if you dislike the man. Even the Apostle Paul retracted his statements about a man who struck him when he found out it was the Sanhedrin.
Everyone’s so focused on Bush’s flaws that they fail to see that some genuinely flawed people are coming to the White House in 2009.
I ignore the statement; it’s true in the very broadest sense, in that there is only one God, and that people think they’re praying to Him. As an evangelical Lutheran, I know there is only one way to salvation. However, we elected Bush as President, not Pastor-in-Chief.

And as Commander-in-Chief he is also Diplomat-in-Chief, since diplomacy is fundamentally an aspect of national defense, every bit as important as building tanks and stealth aircraft.
Diplomacy is part of deciding which battles to fight and when to fight them.
I know that there are some people here in FR who feel we should take on all 1.2 billion muzzies right now, but no responsible CIC would see it that way and Bush is right to say the things he says about the muzzies, even if some of them are patently untrue, such as Islam being a Religion of Peace.
WE are free to openly scoff at the concept of "Islam is a Religion of Peace". Our CIC is not.
Then he should keep his mouth shut on the subject. He pandering to the islamics & paving the way for them.
