We may not deserve it, but I would almost put money on it that it's what we are going to get. These very same arguments in FR that fore-shadowed the disasterous congressional elections. If the GOP can't win by running even Donald Duck against a liberal female Democrat, they are much worse condition than even they realize.
HA....You know there’s been plenty of times when I’ve stood very strong against something and knew nothing would move or change me...Then Our Lord stepped in and with ease...moved me differently. Of course, I didn’t understand it at the time...but not long I had a complete understanding...
Sorry, but I cannot under any circumstances cast a vote for Rudy Giuliani. I have thought long and hard about this. If the Republican party nominates Rudy, then I will sit out the election or cast no vote at all. Rudy doesn't want my vote. He will not get it.
Even if it means 4 years of Hillary, I will not be moved. I am prepared for 4 years of Hillary. I am not prepared to sacrifice my deepest principles on the altar of expediency. If we end up with Hillary, then we as a nation deserve no better.
You can think as much as you'd like to. When it comes to Our Lord it's a spiritual process not a thinking process.
I'm a Duncan Hunter supporter. However, I WILL VOTE for whomever is the Republican Nominee...This man will be hand picked by Our Lord...that you can count on.
Your commentary is duly noted. It’s also noted that you did not answer the question.
At least Duncan professes his Christianity...we know he's a Christian. The others like Fred almost acts offended with Christianity. If it offends him...then it's the same old centuries old thing....Jesus Offends him.
Your contention is that Dobson would never do it. And your explanation is all about why and how Hunter would not do it. You did not answer the question.
Ross Perot had no political experience, same with his VP candidate, and they got millions of votes.
Dobson is a great man and highly respected. I thought a VP is announced when one gets the nomination from your party?
Wow, you really do have trouble answering a question.
Dobson was heartily sick of what the Republican Party had become by the last election, and wasted no time saying so after the 2006 election defeat. He echoed Rush’s “carrying the water” remark, but with more force.
He’s looking for a truly conservative Christian candidate and cannot find one in the front runners. Not Rudy, not Romney, not Thompson, and not McCain. Perhaps if one of them had turned up to the “Values Voters” debate things might now be a little different, but I am sure that Dobson and his friends are getting a little desperate with the selection on offer (at least among those who have a good chance of winning).
Any threat to put up their own candidate would have to be taken seriously by the Republican Party because it would only serve to damage the Republican Party candidate’s chances in the election. Even if they’re not serious about following through with any threat, it’s a good way to claw back some of the leverage they are on the verge of losing. The candidates may not need the religious right to win the nomination, but they need them if they are to have a chance in the election proper.
Dobson has a calling on his life to be a minister of Our Lord. That’s how he is called. He’d not accept a VP request by Hunter unless Our Lord suddenly changed that calling on his life. Dobson’s steps are ordered by God. He makes NO moves without permission from His Lord.
You’re kinda all over the map.
You say, IF the Lord led... to xzins, but then you casually overlook the possibility that the Lord could lead Dobson.
To: xzins
Question: If Our Lord led you would you STILL NOT vote for Rudy? Now dont tell me He wouldnt...
Oh well, I’m glad you’re a believer in Christ.
I can understand Dobson. We’ve moved way to far from the founding roots of this country. The people throughout Congress on both sides are mostly non-Christians. They talk it but do not walk it.
No, I’m not. Voting and accepting a VP spot...is as different as night and day. Now your reasoning is getting a bit silly.
If our Lord sends me a personal telegram, then it would certainly upset my sense of what is murder and what isn't, but, of course, I'd follow it.
And it WOULD have to be a PERSONAL telegram ABSOLUTELY verifiable as being from the Lord that I could hand to anyone. However, God will not go back on "Thou shalt not murder."
MY reasoning is getting silly?
You ask a hypothetical of xzins which includes the premise that the Lord would lead someone to vote for a pro-abortion, cross-dressing, liberal scumbag socialist (and even reinforce the desire for an answer with “Now dont tell me He wouldnt...”), but you think the hypothetical of the Lord leading a great man like Dobson to a VP slot to help lead us out of this moral quagmire is silly.
Put... down... the ... bong.
And that is the difference between us. You doom the nation to Hillary because of your insistence that you will support Rudy.
There is no circumstance in which I'd vote for Rudy. It will not happen. In fact, I will work against both of them.
He is a baby killing, tax raising, gun stealing, family hating, sex death peddling, lover of liberalism.
The choice between Hillary & Rudy is a choice between obsidian black and midnight black.
What I find nice is Our Lord has NO trouble leading each and everyone of us in the way we should go.
Excellent line, MT1.
Actually, I think the inclination of a human is to rebel against God.
Most people think their inner feelings are an impulse from God. I don't think so.
I can have my own interpretation, but if I'm truthful, I'll admit the difference between that and God's actual voice. If God speaks to me, and you are standing beside me, then you will hear it, too.
Finally, there's no way that God's gonna approve of aborting babies.
