Oooh, can I come over? I love challah and apple strudel. When I was still working (at a major public university), there was a Hillel Foundation on campus right across from the building I worked in. One of our Jewish professors in our Department would go over there every Friday to pick up fresh challah bread that was shipped over from a Chicago southside bakery (Baltic Bakery). The bread was wonderful, and my professor friend would bring my order back to me when he picked up his own. I really, really miss that bread. I love all the articles and comments you post, Alouette. You are a treasure of a Freeper. Happy New Year!
