This goes a long way towards explaining the problem with drunk driving in New Mexico. It’s not just a home-grown problem.
The littering thing goes along with it, too.
There was a family of Mexican extraction on our street that had a bunch of girls, and one of the guys that one of the daughters dated (thankfully for a short time) liked to drink those big cans of Coors Light or Bud Light and then heave the can into the yard belonging the guy who lived across the street. He did not appreciate that at all. If it had gone on much longer, there would have been harsh words or worse exchanged out in the street.
I hear ya’. In fact I have a post in the works on the Mexican litter problem that is also migrating north. Unless you’d like to take that one on for me. This stuff needs to be discussed. This is not about folks in the U.S. hating folks from Mexico. With a selective and controlled immigration program, we can “educate” those coming in w/regards to the do’s and don’t’s. But the way things are, well its chaos. DD
I lived in Garden City, KS about 20 years ago and was plagued by that problem. I would go to my backyard which shared a front side yard, driveway with the neighbor. I was constantly cleaning up empties until one day just got fed up. After this moment, every time I found empties in our yard where they were pitched upon the bugs disembarking from whatever vehicle; I would pitch them over the vehicles and into their front yard. This did not happen too many times before I witnessed the public bracing of one of those macho drunks by a petite female of that house. Never had any more litter in the backyard while I lived there.
Now if I could just figure out how to launch the garbage through the side-windows of the pigs who stop along the road near my house these days :^]
