You could be right. I’m not as certain about the outcome of the next election as you are, though. I certainly won't assert the opposite of what you've said, that Fred Thompson will definitely be President of the United States of America. In my view, I think he's got a good shot at the nomination, and then a good shot at election, but I don't think either is anything near a done deal.
However, you seem quite certain in your view. You willin’ to give me odds on your prediction? There are how many Republicans running? Seven, 10? And how many Democrats?
Tell you what, let’s add up the number of candidates in both parties. If it’s 12, then you give me 11 - 1 odds. If it’s 15, then you give me 14 - 1 odds. And you can determine the wager - $5, $10, $20, whatever. If you win, I’ll donate that amount to Free Republic. If I win, you donate to Free Republic that amount times the odds you gave me.
You're so certain that Fred won’t be president, it's a no-lose situation for you, it should be like taking candy from a baby, and it’s for a worthy cause, too!
