Oh yeah - everyone’s just been holding their breath waiting to see who Bob Dole supports. (/sarc)
So McCain wants his “buzz” back. Well, here ya go.

Good for Dole.
Let me know when you switch sides. That will be news.
Depends on what the issue is. Somebody better start screaming and shouting about some of the mess we find ourselves in. And we know it won't be Brady Bill Bob Dole.
IMO, Dole should never be forgiven for this one.
On November 24, Bob Dole agreed to stop the filibuster and to let the Brady bill pass. This agreement was reached when there were only three senators on the floor -- everyone else was home for Thanksgiving. Just one of the senators on the floor -- Bob Dole being among them -- could have objected to the agreement and thereby prevented the bill's passage. Bob Dole did not object. The Brady bill passed. (Source: Congressional Record, November 24, 1993, pp. S 17090-91.)
* Here's what Sen. Dole had to say about his actions:
I know the Gun Owners of America, another group, have a little different view. They are blaming me for the Brady bill that passed because I sat there with the majority leader and everybody else had gone home, and we made an arrangement. We let that bill pass. I was picketed, and they called me a traitor, and everything else . . . because that happened. (Source: Congressional Record, August 23, 1994, p. S 12363.)

Wow! That’s a hot endorsement. I mean, given how well Dole did when he ran for Prez and how popular he is now within GOP circles and all. /sarc
He did fall off that stage and provide some amusing video...
LOL!
Dole and Lott oughta get married : )
I’ll never forget the night they pulled that stunt after beating down the Brady Bill. Mark Hatfield of Oregon was one of the 4 that voted this thing in that night. And then the republicans run Dole as a pres candidate.....it’s like they were begging to lose.
I have not verified the authenticity of this memo, although I do know that Thompson was a huge supporter of the McCain-Feingold CFR legislation and this doesn't surprise me. Not good.
But, that being said, his support for CFR is not a disqualifying factor for me. It does make me a bit uncomfortable, but it isn't a showstopper. If there's a direct connection anywhere with Soros, he's toast in my mind.
The Diageo/Hotline poll out today shows a big lead for that generic Democrat running for president, up 51% to 27% over the generic Republican. But the big news here is John McCain. If the Senator from Arizona drops his White House bid, the poll shows a huge proportion of his voters will flock to former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
Thompson was not just a huge supporter, he was every bit as much the architect of it as McCain and Feingold. OF course he has had a Road to Des Moines conversion, ala Romney, on it.
His conversion may be genuine. But that remains to be seen. I was once convinced. Now, not so much.
The flop would be a little more credible if he had mentioned it before 2007, or if he had not defended it in front of the SCOTUS when it was challenged. This tells me he does not quite understand the first amendment.
Also, see post #6
Now if we can just find out who Chaffee is supporting...
“Bob Dole supports Fred Thompson. Bob Dole. Bob Dole...”
LOL!! I have compared Fred Thompson to Bob Dole. Both are good guys but both are moderates.
