Excellent piece by Nat Helms. It would seem there is a lot more info available of what happened that day than anyone has let on including CIA surveillance.

Another good writeup by Nat Helms. Interesting.

Despite MSM reports of “grainy images” suggesting imperfect technology the ScanEagle can record the activities going on below in sharp detail.

If I remember correctly, the IO, Chris Conlin, commented on the "grainy images" during Chessani's hearing. Also, I thought he commented that it would have been better if Chessani had been actually been on the battlefield vs. looking at these "grainy images" directing his men. Hmmm.

He surmised that such sophistication makes it impossible for senior commanders not to know what was happening at Haditha if they chose to do so. ScanEagle can simultaneously transmit its data in digital format to anyone with the equipment to receive the information. Despite MSM reports of “grainy images” suggesting imperfect technology the ScanEagle can record the activities going on below in sharp detail. The notion its imagery leaves lots of wiggle room for interpretation is simply bunk, the Marine said. WYSIWYG

I pray what we're seeing is the beginning of sleight of hand parlor tricks being usurped by GOD'S TRUTH

Excellent! More and more we find out this was a full scale, balls to the wall ambush and battle. mcGirk and murtha are are agents for the enemy. There is no way to sugar coat it.

Yes, you remember correctly. Can’t wait until we can get our hands on the video from Haditha. I imagine the gov’t will want to keep it under wraps for as long as possible. But we’ll keep trying.

This is confirmation that all hell was breaking loose all over that section of Haditha that day.

Wutterich’s group was part of a much larger operation.

Once this fiasco is over, there ought to be an investigation into how the military leadership handled Haditha after McGirk’s article was published. The leadership failed the accused and the entire Corps.

Agreed, 4WB and Eagles6. This was a full-scale "engagement". There is no way to sugar coat it.

...there are now unconfirmed reports that theater commanders in Baghdad diverted an orbiting RQ-1 Predator medium altitude, high endurance UAV as well...

VERY interesting.

Agreed, Red. McGirk’s story should have never been published in the first place but after it was the leadership should have put the brakes to this fiasco in a hurry.

Yes, indeed. Though Nat is cautious because it’s coming from a single source. With persistence, more digging will turn up more information.

I apologize for stepping in on the intelligent posts, but man that UAV looks like a cool toy.

Great proof of truth.

Well, Well. Well!

Little by little the truth emerges:

Revelations of a ScanEagle unmanned aerial vehicle flying over the site of the alleged “massacre” at Haditha, Iraq shows conclusively that combat commanders up the chain of command from Kilo Company to the 2nd Marine Division were able in “real time” to witness what was unfolding on the battlefield, several career Marines said.

Their comments fly in the face of prosecution charges that the battlefield commanders from company to regimental level failed to adequately investigate or inform 2nd Marine Division Commander Richard A. Huck what transpired at Haditha. At a minimum his intelligence chief (G-2) and operations officer (G-3) were receiving real time reports and live digital image downloads of the battle as it progressed, the Marines agreed.

  ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

In fact there were at least two and possibly three kinds of UAV’s over Haditha that morning. One type, the Dragon Eye, is a low endurance, relatively simple UAV belonging to the intelligence section of 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines. It is hand launched and carries a low-definition camera. At least one was over the battlefield all morning. In addition to Dragon Eye and ScanEagle UAVs there are now unconfirmed reports that theater commanders in Baghdad diverted an orbiting RQ-1 Predator medium altitude, high endurance UAV as well. The Predator is operated by the Air Force for the Central Intelligence Agency, National Security Agency, and other highly classified intelligence authorities. It allows senior commander at the Pentagon to see what is happening in real time as well. The source said it was unlikely confirmation will ever be forthcoming.

And it seems we have the following two gentlemen to thank for this debacle:

Donald C. Winter

James C. Walker

Secretary of the Navy

74th Secretary of the Navy, sworn into office on Jan. 3, 2006. As Secretary of the Navy, Dr. Winter leads America's Navy and Marine Corps Team and is responsible for an annual budget in excess of $125 billion and almost 900,000 people.

MARINE CORPS
Staff Judge Advocate to the Commandant of the United States Marine Corps
Brigadier General

Sorry if I step on anybodies sensitivities, but the information dribbling out of the Haditha cases, and the Hamdaniya investigational conduct, leads me to believe we should demand both of these men be removed from office.

Secretary Winters, USN, was notified early on that there were problems with the actions taken, and continuing, with the NCIS investigations. He disavowed any knowledge thereof, and further declared he would not allow for an independent investigation into the misrepresentation and coercion by NCIS against these accused Marines.

BGen. Walker, USMC JAG, has allowed his team to ride rough-shod over the rights of both teams cases, and condoned the actions of the NCIS investigations.

You sure didn’t step on any of my sensitivities, I couldn’t agree with you more, especially about Winter.

In late April or early May 2006 Karlen told Naval Criminal Investigative Service special agents he saw three or four Kalashnikov AK-47 assault rifles were leaning against the white taxicab that drove into the ambush site several hours after the IED exploded. NCIS failed to turn over Karlen’s testimony to the defense despite being interrogated for four hours. Five Iraqis riding in the vehicle were killed in the opening moments of the battle. McGirk said they were innocent students on their way to school. Marine Corps intelligence specialists later identified them as known insurgents. Last Friday Cpl. Robert Stafford, the former Armory Custodian for Kilo Co., testified that he believed an AK-47 was recovered from the white car.

What the HECK are these men being charged with again?? And WHY did there seem to be little interest in refuting the penned propaganda of McGirk before any charges were ever filed?? Did they even WANT to find out the truth? What has been going on here?

Basically, charges were filed because they survived the ambush! IF they hadn't, this would have been several notches on the terrorists' belts, videotaped for enemy propagnada, and our MSM could have had more Marine deaths to crow about on the nightly news.

This is positively sickening!
