They only have guards on-site when the area is not locked down....tours for prospective clients, placing dedicated servers, etc.
They have contracts in the defense industry so it is probably not really normal but if I wanted to protect the integrity of my system and could afford such I would probably go that far or at least collocate with someone that did. This place even has some man traps that would make an old school D&D player proud(pit traps and such).
