Supporters Of Immigration Bill Open To Stronger Measures (FR Mentioned, Pro-Amnesty Barf Alert)
Startasphere ^ | 6-13-2007 | A.J. Strata

Posted on 06/13/2007 12:09:47 PM PDT by jmc813

Just look at the tireless efforts to find compromise by the supporters of the immigration bill:

Negotiators also were considering harsher penalties for immigrants who overstay their visas or re-enter the country illegally, according to Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.

“If you had mandatory jail time” for such offenses, Graham said, “I think it would create a deterrent.”

Another possible amendment, he said, would prohibit employers from participating in a new temporary worker program if they repeatedly break the law by hiring illegal workers.

All great ideas. But they will be dismissed by the far right. Because the “Amnesty” phrase in all their heated rhetoric is about providing a path to legal status for the 12+ million long term illegal aliens now in the country. These are good ideas broadly supported. Will the immigraiton hypochondriacs take these and finally pass the package? LOL! Well, if they ever wanted to prove AJStrata to be really, really wrong they would! If they lined up behind the bill with these additions (and no one is stopping them from making more suggestions later) then I will be wrong about them.

Excuse me if I am not too worried that I misunderstood the intentions of the obstructionists. When they use the term “Amnesty Bill” they are not worried about future violators….. We all know what that phrase applies to. It does not apply to border elements. You can’t give “amnesty” to a fence. It is not about future guest workers - they have done nothing yet to warrant “amnesty”. Same goes for anyone who commits a future infraction. The word is targetted at what is their big problem. They day they drop the phrase is the day I believe they are worried about some other aspect of this bill than the 12 million illegals here now (and it will be the day I will have to abandon my counter-phrase “immigration hypochondriacs”!).

Now contrast these sincere efforts with the KOS Kid wannabes at Free Republic. Calls of ‘liars’ and RINO and “gay cheerleader”. And people wonder why I am so happy to distance myself from these ‘people’? More far right bile here:

The other cabinet officer, Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, said that failure to pass the bill would hurt the economy. “We will see rotting fruit” in the fields, Mr. Gutierrez said. “We will see lawns that don’t get cared for. We will see patients who don’t get cared for.”

Mr Gutierrez, I can grow my own vegetables, mow my own yard and I don’t want a disease infested illegal taking care of me when I am sick!

So bugger off!

This is the core of the crowd. I don’t care if other people are not this bad, but they are aligned with them. That is like aligning with David Duke because you see his proposal in a different light than he does. But when you align with him you give him YOUR credibility. Or, more likely, he takes yours down to his level. This is the heat behind the opponents of immigration reform. It is a foul and ugly heat.

To A. J. Strata:

Nice smear job with that broad brush. You are much too enamored of yourself as well as calling names of others and then acting too offended at what they say.

What’s wrong with protecting American sovereignty? Answer that honestly and you will know your own failings.

Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez also said, “current immigration laws are too weak.”

(especially if they’re not being enforced)

So they will promise us the moon regarding enforcement provisions because they know they will never have to deliver.

GWB and DHS got $1.2 billion for a border fence, of which less than 1/2 of 1 percent has been built. Just last week, Chertoff gave this explanation for the delay: "Call you Congressman." (Of course Congress has nothing to do with it, they'd already disbursed the funds to DHS).

In the interim (and before the 2006 election) GWB authorized 6,000 National Guardsmen to the border in rolling deployments of 3 weeks. According to recent reports, their presence has been dwindling due to deployements of those Guardsmen to Iraq.

In 2005 GWB requested and was provided funds to hire 2,000 new Border Patrol officers for 2006. In his 2006 budget, GWB's budget showed that 216 BP officers would be hired, not the 2,000 approved by Congress.

Read: This is so much bull sh** because we will NEVER enforce anything anyway,

After the Z visas are approved, there will be no one to arrest.

Illegal aliens will be under Z visa Amnesty, and employers will have 15 million legal Z visa employees.

Also note to Strata and Graham that "immigrants" can't overstay or enter illegally, since they have immigrant visas. They are supposed to be here.

If your use of slurs such as "hypochondriacs" is any indication, please, distance your sorry ass even further from us so we don't have to deal with your apologist stench.

Propose a fantasy that one Federal judge can toss and see if anybody is dumb enough to pretend to believe it.

Do you have a source for that quote? Seem like grounds to be called before congress for an explanation of his pass-the-buck, blow you off attitude.

In the meantime, Maybe we should flood DHS with FOIRs relating to every conversation on the border fence timetable. Anyone got a handle on the most expeditious way to file?

Hey Strata: YOUR side started it by calling anybody with any objections to the bill bigots, racists, nativists, un-patriotic, and saying we would have opposed civil rights for blacks, so you can shove your petty gutter-sniping up your ass, you two-bit carnival barker.

So, does anyone know who A.J. Strata is? I've never heard of him. He can't be very important.

As far as Lindsey Graham goes, I think he's a WORTHLESS POS! A GAY TRAITOR. LOL! I like the way that sounds! ;o)

Now........

I hope A.J. will read this one too, because I think he's a writer wanna be.

Do you have a source for that quote?

I'm sorry, I don't. I'm sure it was on radio or TV, but can't recall where. It was last week though.

I did personally hear him on C-SPAN when he blew-off a woman with legal permanent residence expressing concerns about the unfairness of Z visas, compared to what legal applicants must go through.

Chertoff's answer (I not joking) was "What's the problem? She's here isn't she?"

Another thing is, what good does it do to hire more border agents when they might end up like Ramos for just doing their job? You could hire 200,000 more agents and it won't do any good if they are afraid of arrest by their own government.
