“But seriously, look at the Mormon responses on this thread.”

Non sequiter. I count four known Mormons on this thread. Two of us are not Romney supporters. The threads to which you refer are mostly from non-Mormons who support Romney. Therefore, the bulk of your post is invalidated.

“Many Mormons are probably going to vote for him because he’s a Mormon, regardless of the alarm bells and the contradictions. They probably feel that he will best respresent their interests.”

Such voters are as dangerous as any knee-jerk voter, such as, for example, blacks who vote (D) just because it’s a (D). Personally, I work to disabuse any fellow Mormons I meet from such a point of view. Romney’s religion should not be a factor in the decision. Frankly, it’s not that big a deal right now because Mormons are about as interested in presidential primary elections as an other average American.

Yes. I overstated and over-generalized based on the first couple of Mormons, or at least posters posing as Mormons before yours. I did not see DephiUser's post before I posted. See my apology at #136. I should not have said, "the Mormons". I should have said, "some Mormons". I will say that one Mormon poster subsequently butressed my point about cognitive dissonance with multiple posts as if done shouting with fingers in ears, repeating the same sentence over and over, as if that would make Romney's offensive second sentence go away.

Cordially,
