Here's the info for you. I've been away from Minnesota longer than you have, so maybe you have a point. Notice the colors on this map are properly as they should be-- blue for the Republicans and Communist Red for the Democrats. The light shade of red in the 2000 election indicates a fairly narrow margin for the winning districts in the eastern half of the state-- possibly a reflection of the conservative social values of the Iron Range? Note, however, by 2004 there are no light shades of either red or blue in the presidential election, so you have a fairly polarized state just as we have a polarized nation.
Maybe I should post the CD maps of New Jersey just for comparison?
