Did you read these Media accounts of Nancy Pelosi’s visit...from all over the Middle East????

They are pretty damning...in that it looks like Pelosi accomplished what she set out to do....make her party the “saviour” party...from the “bad administration”...

Qatari columnist Mazen Hammad wrote in the Qatari daily Al-Watan: “It is as if lightning had struck the White House. This is how House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Damascus could be described. This wise woman, who is considered the third most senior American [official], is not only bringing her country back to sanity, but is also contributing to improving the image of the U.S. in the Arab and Muslim world.

“The talk in the White House of ‘mixed signals’ sent to Syria by the visit is not true. The visit sends one [single] message - a message of the American people’s challenge to the foreign policy adopted by the American administration…

“The important message that Nancy Pelosi has sent, not only to the Middle East but to the entire world, is that the closed-door policy always fails, and that the use of military force and economic violence in order to assure political ends that rely on [American] hegemony is equivalent to robbery… Force that does not open political horizons cannot succeed in forcing solutions.

JUST unbelievable.

Here is an account posted by a FReeper:

Guys, it is Saturday night over here now and I am aware of this subject being discussed in depth with officials from two Middle East countries right now as I type this. Our nation has sent a very dangerous mixed message to the entire world ~

Im actually taken aback that the topic was brought up to me this morning by a government offical from a Middle Eastern country who actually suggested that this looked like a coup. That kind of talk coming from a diplomat is not a joking matter.

If there are 'influencial' FReepers, they need to be aware of this ~ so please help ~ this is not good and the effects from this are going to wreck havoc with any of our nation's diplomatic efforts in the future.

I understand that normally our nation has followed the path of just lettting the crazies in congress do whatever the hell they wanted overseas ~ but this time it is different ~

Very nice, and I mean this sincerely... They’re very fast marginalizing themselves. Even WaPo is blasting them for this “Congressional alternative foreign policy” stupidity, yet they just keep marching off the edge of the cliff to the drumbeats of moveon.org and Code Pink.

Between this and the stupid “pork for defeat in Iraq” bill they have no chance of winning, they are antagonizing the very people they worked hard to snooker last November into voting for their “faux conservative”. candidates... Many people in conservative districts didn’t pay attention to Dem leadership (”the man behind the curtain”), they were just either ticked off at corrupt or ineffective Republicans or were demoralized by all the negativity and apathetic enough not to come out to vote. These voters certainly didn’t expect THIS, and even Dems’ own polls show they are losing big time on the Iraq and Congressional performance and that is even with people not knowing about Steny Hoyer’s meetings with Muslim Brotherhood etc... They should stick to their phony “investigations” but even that is no longer a sure bet, as people are getting sick of negative rhetoric without any substance, and GOP maybe quietly starting to fight back - DiFi’s recent resignation from committee due to hubby’s conflict is a subtle indication of that.

Keep it up, Democrats, more and more people are watching you, now that you have the power.

Some Saudi papers have been referring to Nancy as the “Alternate President”. It’s such a dangerous road the Dems have embarked on, I don’t know how we’ll recover from it.
