I wonder if HAgel just got a wakeup call on how popular he really is and it made him crap his pants. He is only popular in the MSM when he comes out against Bush. Not a good way to secure the base that likes Bush.
Maybe he got enough e-mails from angry Nebraskans (including yours truly) saying he'd never get their votes even if he DID run for Pres., and he decided just hating Bush isn't enough to get him to the White House.
Personally, I think he looks too slimy, weasel-like, and dishonest to ever get elected to Pres.
