A Swiss newspaper claimed on Sunday that the Taliban's former Defense Minister was free two days after his reported capture by Pakistani security forces.
The Swiss weekly Sonntagsblick said one of its reporters spoke to Mullah Obaidullah Akhund on February 28 unhindered in an Islamic School in the southwestern city of Quetta.
Akhund, considered a key ally of fugitive Taliban leader Mullah Omar, was the most senior leader from the hard-line militia to be reported arrested since US-led troops ousted it from power in 2001.
Several Pakistani intelligence officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said earlier this month that he was among five Taliban suspects arrested on February 26 in a raid on a Quetta home. However, Pakistani government officials at that time did not confirm any arrest publicly, and one senior interior ministry official who handles counterterrorism issues denied a top Taliban figure was captured.
Pakistani officials could not be reached for comment late today on the Swiss newspaper's claim.

And as a matter of fact I will cheer them on.....time to end this dog and pony show.
Fyi..
I have been saying for a long time Pakistan is totally full of crap. Certain people didn't want to believe Mushie was double dealing, but reality is finally settling in.
We are up against the most twisted, violent group of people on earth. We basically bought off Pakiston to help us, they didn't do if for moral reasons. I'm telling you the Muslim world is like organized crime. While they may have their seperate families (countries), they will work together when need be.
This piece of trash is known as the Taliban's Zarqawi.

There is nothing we can do about it really...Mush has the nukes and for now..it's safer in his hands than it is in the hands of Al Qaeda. He is trying to stay alive.
Different guy..
Mullah Dadullah Akhund is different from Mullah Obaidullah Akhund?
Just happen to run into the guy, did they?
In Pakistan the Taliban has pretty much free reign.
Yes..
Shhhhhh, they lo-jacked his hide. It was one of these new-fangled devices, the ones that cannot be detected by x-ray or field scanner - nano technology, very secret. I think they embed it in the wall of the carotid artery or maybe the aorta. It can only be removed by dissection. Shhhhh. Don't tell the muzzies.
Swiss Ping!
World press reports: Top Taliban arrested... but he was actually having coffee with a SonntagsBlick reporter
By Bruno Schirra
Everyone, from the New York Times to the NZZ, reported Mullah Akhund had been arrested. But the news is not true. The Taliban's No. 3 continues to live in Quetta undisturbed.
Because the US accused him of not doing enough in the War on Terror, Pakistani leader Musharraf ordered the arrest of Taliban member Mullah Obaidullah Akhund two weeks ago. But: on 28 February, two days after this act of the security agency ISI, Akhund spoke freely with SonntagsBlick in a radical Quran-school in the Pakistan border city of Quetta.
Here's what happened: Akhund met the SonntagsBlick journalist during evening prayertime. The call to prayer "Allahu akbar" went through the back-lanes of Quettas. Almost 300 believers assembled in the Quran-school. Ten-year old boys, young men and old patriarchs. They left their weapons outside the prayer room. Between them stood Akhund, large and hagared, stroking his imposing beard and enjoying the admiration of the faithful.
The Mullah is the special guest at the Quran school. Quetta ist the HQ, logistics centre and place of safe retreat for the Afghan Taliban. This where the terror organisations command structures reside. From Quetta, they organise the fight against the unbelievers' occupation of their homeland. They are supported by parts of the Pakistani military and security agency ISI.
After the prayers Mullah Akhund sat down with crossed legs and carefully layed out his future strategy for the fight in Afghanistan. "6,000 martyers are ready to die fighting for God. No occupier will be spared. We will kill them all, we're thirsty for their blood". The Mullah promised, speaking in a soft voice and with a slight smile on his face, a series of suicide attacks . Several small commando units of 12 to 30 fighters had already infiltrated Afghanistan, he said.
Only a few days later, Akhund's threat had become a bloody reality. The Taliban's spring offensive - organised out of Quetta - had begun. And nobody in Quetta will prevent the terrorists from doing anything. As Police chief Rao Ahmed Khan says smilingly: "We in Quetta will not leave our brothers of the Taliban in the lurch. We let them be free".

Germanislamonazis.
In Afghanistan, the Talibs are referred to as the Pakistanis.
