Some Hate Speech is More Equal than Other Hate Speech (says National Jewish Democratic Council)

The National Jewish Democratic Council, which attempted to whitewash MoveOn.org’s vicious hate speech last year (http://www.israpundit.com/2006/?p=3149) while posting anti-Semitic “Jews as Christian haters” propaganda on its own blog (http://www.israpundit.com/2006/?p=3172), has suddenly decided that hate speech is bad–when it comes from sources like Ann Coulter and Michael Savage. We note, incidentally, that Michael Savage is among the country’s most vocal opponents of militant Islam, and his show has more than eight million listeners.

“Savage Hate Speech” at the National Judenrat Democratic Council’s blog says, “to those who have heard Savage’s radio show, it is obvious that his hate filled-rage knows no bounds. Media Matter has a disturbing example of Savage’s tasteless diatribes in which he actually compares homosexual men and women to Nazis.” It is entirely consistent with NJDC’s total lack of character and ethics that it cites Savage’s remarks out of context, as we will demonstrate below.

First, however, the National Jewish Democratic Council needs to get the beam out of its own eye (and the swastika off its armband) before it points to the mote in Michael Savage’s or Ann Coulter’s. “Swastika off its armband” is no exaggeration, noting that NJDC posted relabeled and repackaged “Jews hate Christians” propaganda on its own web log.

Not content with distributing repackaged and relabeled "Jews as Christian Haters" propaganda on its own blog, the National Jewish Democratic Council is now attacking the Republican Jewish Coalition along with the Christian Coalition (http://njdc.typepad.com/njdcs_blog/2007/03/radical_rightwi.html), which it calls a "Radical Right Wingnut Group." The National Judenrat Democratic Council should not be talking about radical wingnut groups, noting its own attempts to whitewash an anti-Semitic, anti-Catholic, and anti-Evangelical hate organization, and its own propagation of anti-Semitic propaganda.

NJDC (http://njdc.typepad.com/njdcs_blog/2007/03/why_is_the_repu.html) also asks, "Why is the Republican Jewish Coalition Picking a Fight with Reform Jews?" NJDC's basic problem is that it equates the Union for Reform Judaism (formerly the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, a double oxymoron regarding the terms "American" and "Hebrew") with Reform Jews. I happen to be one, and the URJ does not speak for me on issues like Iraq (as cited by NJDC) and gun control.

In fact, I exposed the Union for Reform Judaism's (then the Union of American Hebrew Congregations') friends in the Million Mom March for apparent misuse of 501(c)(3) tax-exempt money for electioneering on behalf of Al Gore and other left-wing Democrats. This resulted in the destruction of the Million Mom March as a viable organization.

Here is what NJDC's friend Eric Yoffie said at the Million Mom March, in his capacity as the head of a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.

"We are ready for a knockdown, drag-out, no-holds barred battle against the NRA - which is the real criminal lobby in this country, and which is drenched in the blood of murdered children. Sure, we may not have the money of the NRA, but we've got savvy, grit and passion, and we're going to find out who's getting NRA funds, and who's benefitting from NRA ads, and we're going to vote for the other guy! ..." "The American people, I believe, are ready for a leader who will take on the fanatics and support sensible gun control." Remember, this is your tax money at work in the form of support for a 501(c)(3) "religious" organization.

501(c)(3) organizations are not permitted to endorse or oppose candidates, which Yoffie was obviously doing even though he did not mention Al Gore by name. In any event, it is not surprising to find the National Jewish Democratic Council, the proud defender of MoveOn.org Action Forum's anti-Semites, Catholic-baiters, racists, and Christian-haters, in bed with the political arm of the Union for Reform Judaism (and I use the term Judaism very loosely here--Eric Yoffie's Union for Reform Judaism is essentially the Huffington Post, MoveOn.org, or Daily Kos with Jewish holidays).

Regarding NJDC's attacks on Michael Savage--although Savage lacks government experience, I would easily vote for him over Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, or Joseph "Obama is a credit to his race" Biden.
