Good points.
Name recognition is important, but it's not the end-all be-all. It can be overcome.
Klintoon was a "who the $!#@$ is that shifty-eyed scumbag looking like the car-crazy trailer dregs I see come into my store every day?" for me.
Arkansas on "Evening Shade" and "Designing Women" mentioning "Bill Clinton" as Gov of Arkansas being so wonderfully generous, were the only inklings I had of this dude - and of course, that was AFTER the fact for me. It didn't hit me until this scumbag came up in NH.
Same happened here in MD w/Ellen Sauerbrey. Everyone knows Helen Bentley, and noone knew Sauerbrey, but SHOCK - Sauerbrey beat Bentley in the primary! (Both are great conservative women, BTW.)
Goracle worshipers.
Common sense ain't so common any more...
"I've been calling them FRiberals for about a month or so."
Damn, I thought I just coined a new term, and here you've already done it!
I like that. FRiberals!
No offense taken. I'd just like to point out that in all my posts I've been saying Giuliani is my preference among the candidates put forward as front runners right now. I stress the "right now". Also, as I scan the horizon ahead, I don't see other candidates coming to the fore. Doesn't mean it won't happen, or can't happen. I just don't see it, right now.
We need a term to substitute for "liberal" in all
contexts, not just here. The approbative aura derived
from the connotations of a century ago or so still
lingers, even though "liberals" are illiberal.
How about FRat boys. Would that be over the top?
Ah, ridiculing someone based on your assumptions of their religion, especially in a non-religous thread.
Well, I have to admit, it's a useful that you do this - so we can more easily identify you FRINOs!
No true conservative would bash someone because they assume they read the Bible. And FR is for conservatives - of all religions, or even of none.
I live in an urban area. Don't lump me in with you.
Many of us including myself are not members of Evangelical Church's.
I'm not a member of an evangelical church, either. Don't lump me in with you.
Do not live in small towns
I don't live in a small town either. Don't lump me in with you.
and as such have no desire to own guns.
There are many things I'd rather buy than purchase a gun. But I sure will defend my and other's right to buy one - rifle, shotgun, handgun, whatever. Don't lump me in with you.
It seem to me that the small town and southern elements have largely taken over and defined what it means to be conservatives.
It seems to me that those who have no respect for fundamental human rights are trying to take over the Conservative movement. The GOP was founded on respecting these fundamental rights back in the days of U.S. slavery. I'll fight those that want to take that from our party's DNA in these days of abortion.

Why dont you save it and fight the Dem's. we are really all on the same side. We may have some different views but pretty genrally we are all on the same side.
Misguided?
(rimshot)
Cheers!
