This is what I sent to the outdoor life forum!
***
Just one final statement.
I've been sitting here getting more and more fed up with all of this talk about these, pieces of machinery, having no legitimate sporting purpose, no legitimate hunting purpose, people, that is not the point of the second amendment!
The second amendment is not about duck hunting, and I know I'm not going to make very many friends saying this, but it's about our right, all of our right to be able to protect our selves from all of you guys up there.

Whats this new HR1022 that I'm hearing about, another ARB? Is there any truth to it? Is it generated by dumbo Zumbo? I understand that....

Zumbo ? Dumbo:As a Hunter Education Instructor I get PO ed at the gun haters and our own that fail to support the Second Amendment.
Divide and Conquer; a military tactic being used by gun haters to destroy America. Zumbo is educated beyond his intelligence and does not know what an assault rifle is.
Assault rifle, a sub caliber weapon with select fire options, capable of firing in semi automatic or full automatic fire, generally used by the military or police. The AR 15 is the muscle car of this age. It has more parts to add on this sporting rifle than you can afford. I teach my students that AR does not mean Assault Rifle, it means Armalite Rifle. The M-16 was designed by Armalite for the US military in 1964. The current AR 15 is the best of the best for rapid varmint shooting and sport. I refer to the shooting sport as the Target Sport. My students leave class understand that the AR is strictly a sporting rifle and can be very versatile. With the many calibers coming along, you will see it a lot more. My AR-15 is awesome .357" five shot groups at 100 yards and .875" at 200 yards.
United WE Stand, Divided We Fall.
Even if you don't like a particular type of firearm, it is still part of the Second Admedment Protection Package. I love all of them.

Fascinating read. I wonder what ol Zumbo is up to now?! He's a stockboy at Staples:
Jim Zumbo Spaples Stockboy: As I write this, I'm opening boxes of Post-It Notes in the main store in southeastern Wyoming with Freddie Svenson, Dayshift Manager for 3M, Grant Vennison, who is senior research engineer for 3M, and several other stock boys. We're testing Freddie's keys to his 1978 Pacer on several boxes of the new, hot-pink Post-It Notes.
I must be living in a vacuum. Grant tells me that the use of 'box cutters' have a rapidly growing following among stockmen, especially office supply workers. I had no clue. Only once in my life have I ever seen anyone using one of these dangerous utensils.
I call them "assault" utensils, which may upset some people. Excuse me, maybe I'm a traditionalist, but I see no place for these weapons among our restocking fraternity. I'll go so far as to call them "terrorist" utilities as they were used in bringing down airplanes on 9-11. They tell me that some companies are producing "safety" blades.
Sorry, folks, in my humble opinion, these things have no place in opening boxes. We don't need to be lumped into the group of people who terrorize the world with them, which is an obvious concern. I've always been comfortable with the statement that stock clerks don't use assault box cutters. We've always been proud of our "just sharp enough keys."
This really has me concerned. As stock replenishers, we don't need the image of walking around the store carrying one of these weapons. To most of the public, an box cutter is a terrifying thing. Let's divorce ourselves from them. I say other departments should ban them from the warehouse and showfloor.

What the hell does Zumbo's column have to do with the Second Amendment? He didn't say you can't own the gun -- he thinks they shouldn't be used for hunting. Dumb enough, OK, but jeez -- disagree with the guy, don't destroy him for speaking his mind.
There was a time when we all subscribed to this: "I disagree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." What's happened to us?

HIs words are already being used by the Brady Bunch to fuel the next AWB and even more restrictions on gun-owners. Good job.
