Some inconvenient truths about the politics of environmental crisis
The Free Press ^ | February 5, 2007 | Mitchel Cohen

Al Gore's film, "An Inconvenient Truth," raises the issue of global warming in a way that scares the bejeezus out of viewers, as it should since the consequences of global climate change are truly earth-shaking. ~snip~

But, typically, the solutions Gore offers are standard Democratic Party fare. You'd never know by watching this film that Gore and Clinton ran this country for 8 years and that their policies -- as much as those of the Bush regime -- helped pave the way for the crisis we face today.

Gore never critiques the system causing the global ecological crisis. At one point, he even mourns the negative impact of global warming on U.S. oil pipelines. Oh, the horror! What it all comes down to, for Gore and the Democrats, is that we need to shift away from reliance on fossil fuels and tweak existing consumption patterns.

Even there, Gore and Clinton did nothing to improve fuel efficiency in the U.S. -- a topic which Gore talks about in the movie without any hint that he'd once actually been in a position to do something about it. The question Gore poses is, Who can best manage the relatively minor solutions he recommends, the Democrats or Republicans? For Gore, it's sort of "trust US, not THEM, to deal with this situation because they are liars and we're not." Well, should we trust him?

I call BS. There simply is no earth-shaking crisis. The earth's climate is not now, nor has it ever been, static. Personally I much prefer it being a bit warmer to a new ice age. The only crisis is the effectiveness of the international socialist/environazi cabal to disseminate propaganda aimed at my pocketbook and lifestyle.

Seemingly, at the very least, any and all crap sourced from obviously commie websites warrants a "barf alert" ???

I agree that the human effect on global warming is insignificant. The reason I posted this is I love to see liberals beat liberals.

Only one sentence would warrant a "barf alert". The rest is a delightful beating of Clinton and Gore.

Why "barf alert"? He's just pointing out that Gore is using this issue cynically for political advantage, which is true. BTW, nice pic!

Did you actually read the entire article?
It's been my experience that anything sourced from an admittedly far left site which somehow both finds room to attack Gore & his enviro-wacko buddies from an even more extreme moonbat point of view &, as might be expected, literally reeks of acceptance of various lunatic fringe conspiracy theories, generally merits a "barf alert" on FR.

GORE'S GLOBAL FLATULENCE CAN BE TWEAKED!>>>>>>

I ain't gonna tweak it. And don't light any matches around Igore.

I suspect that Saint Gore is contributing significantly to the methane, H2S, and ethyl and methyl mercaptan content of the atmosphere.

Nah. "Barf alert" should be reserved for a specific situation or advocacy which induces vomiting. This is just criticism of Al Gore from the left - more of a "funny alert".
