Mormonism and Mitt Romney: How To Sift Threw The Misinformation…

I came across this site today and had to share it. I have never seen such a complete compilation to rebut the anti-Mormon rhetoric. I highly recommend taking a look at it.

Don't you mean "Sift Through the Misinformation"?

Hard to take a post seriously with a headline like this.

Go check out the video "The God Makers". That should help you figure out the Morman theology. Then, go read the Masonic initiation vows.

Well, I am a "Mormon" (i.e., a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). I know enough Mormon theology to realize that The God Makers is not a reliable source for understanding Mormonism.

The web site referenced in the original post offers links to some excellent and interesting material. However, I am not sure that Mormon apologetics is relevant to Mitt Romney's political ambitions. In the end, the success or failure of his candidacy will depend much more on his political beliefs than his religious ones.

Although I am LDS, that does not mean I support Mr. Romney for president. Right now, I would prefer someone who is more unambiguously conservative than he appears to be.

Personally, I find Mormonism a bit kooky, but I couldn't care less whether a presidential candidate believes the stuff or not. I see absolutely no reason why Mormonism would in any way impede a man's ability to lead the country. All the kooky things the religion teaches have nothing to do with statecraft or even day to day living, while everything that the LDS teaches that has to do with morality is very sound. I suspect most conservative Christians will come to this conclusion after they give Mitt Romney a good look.

TO ALL WHO WANT TO HELP US TO BELIEVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE ABOUT CHRIST AND HOW HE GUIDES HIS PEOPLE ON EARTH.

If this thread is like most others that have anything to do with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or as we are more often called, the Mormons, it will soon be taken over by those who, for reasons of their own, choose to put down my Church, and those of us who worship with it.

We find no problem with people who really want to talk to us about converting to their religion, we spend a lot of time doing it ourselves.

What we find offensive is when people leave out part of the truth to make a half-true lie , or when some one renames something, that we find important or sacred, so it sounds like gutter talk.

I do not know how to tell the difference all the time. There are some Handles that keep showing up, and they are easy to spot. Sometimes, though, I have given a hard and not so kind response to some who honestly care for us and our salvation.

Please forgive us if we get you mixed up.

Thanks for your time,
fred
