An Ivory Tower; Four Stories High!

If there really are two Americas, one of the two probably lacks available space for more mansions like the one just purchased by Mr. Populism himself, John Edwards. Don Carrington of The Carolina Journal dishes on King John's new palace.

If it were any other human being alive, it probably wouldn't grate much to watch this chapion of the lawsuit lists erect a pleasure dome that Kubla Kahn would get lost in without a GPS and a digital map. It grates particularly, because of his scathing denunciations of the wealth and social conscience of so many others. It galls when one of America's foremost fomenters of class envy takes up residence in a red-neck Versailles.

Then there's that quaint four story tower, adjacent to the faux red barn. Why so tall, Little Boy John? Why lord it over that other America you claim to care so much for?

Well there's a reason it had to go up at least that high. If John Edwards really cares about that other America, the tower has to be that tall so that he can still see where that other America is.

John Edwards needs to find a 3rd America. He can't find room for all his toys in the other two.

Being a Democrat too often involves millionaires telling working people that they should be taking care of the poor. Most anyone can handle poverty, but it takes real character to handle being rich.

I savor the further irony that Edwards' house is bigger than the average WalMart.

Just another typical lieberal case of do what I say, not what I do.

The 'new digs' certainly reflect the man - devoid of style, a series of ill-placed afterthoughts, architectually vacant, in a sterile setting, clueless, and classless.

A classic more-money-than-brains "statement house".

I savor the further irony that Edwards' house is bigger than the average WalMart.

At a little over 28,000 sq ft, the Breck Girl has a good sized house, but your average Wally World goes 120,000 or more. It's a LONG walk from the produce aisle to motor oil!
